Perchée au sommet de la pente raide du circuit à partir du virage 9, la tribune Lukey Heights offre une vue imprenable sur l'une des parties les plus exigeantes et les plus complexes du circuit, qui s'étend jusqu'à la boucle sud. Le virage 9 est tristement célèbre à Phillip Island. Il se caractérise par une longue courbe à gauche qui mène à un sommet aveugle, suivi d'une descente difficile vers l'épingle à cheveux du virage 10, une zone bien connue pour ses excellentes possibilités de dépassement.
