Die MotoGP in Katar startet in die Saison mit drei Renntagen unter Flutlicht auf dem Lusail International Circuit.
Freitag
Die Fahrer gehen zum ersten freien Training und zu den Trainingssitzungen auf die Strecke, um sich einen direkten Platz in Q2 zu sichern oder sich der zusätzlichen Herausforderung von Q1 zu stellen. Die zehn schnellsten Fahrer der kombinierten Trainingszeiten ziehen direkt in Q2 ein.
Samstag
Der Tag beginnt mit einem 30-minütigen 2. freien Training, gefolgt vom Qualifying, in dem die Startaufstellung für den MotoGP-Sprint und den Grand Prix am Sonntag festgelegt wird. Der Sprint, der etwa die Hälfte der gesamten Renndistanz umfasst, verspricht spannende Kämpfe und vergibt Punkte an die ersten neun Platzierten (12 Punkte für den Sieger).
Sonntag
Ein kurzes MotoGP-Warm-up geht dem Hauptrennen voraus, bei dem der Grand Prix spannende Action auf der Strecke verspricht und bereits eine wichtige Rolle für die frühe Meisterschaftswertung spielen könnte.
