Mobility Resort Motegi (in the past also known as Twin Ring Motegi) is a unique and technical circuit known for its stop-and-go layout that challenges riders with heavy braking zones and rapid acceleration. Built by Honda in 1997, the track features a mix of tight hairpins, sweeping corners, and long straights, demanding precise bike control and strategy.
A 4.8 km (2.98 miles) long circuit with 14 corners, consisting of six left-handers and eight right-handers.
The circuit has been a part of the MotoGP calendar since 1999. Over the years, it has witnessed memorable battles, unpredictable weather conditions, and dramatic championship-deciding moments.
Located in Tochigi Prefecture, about 150 km from Tokyo, the circuit is surrounded by lush forests, offering a scenic backdrop for the high-speed action. The venue isn’t just about racing – it also includes the Honda Collection Hall, showcasing historic motorcycles and race cars, along with family-friendly attractions within the connected amusement park.
