About the Circuit

The Adelaide Street Circuit will become part of the MotoGP calendar from 2027, bringing world-class motorcycle racing to the centre of South Australia’s capital. The temporary track runs through Adelaide’s parklands close to the city centre, creating a distinctive atmosphere that combines high-level motorsport with a vibrant urban setting.

For MotoGP, the layout will be extended to 4.195 km and include 17 corners. This makes it longer and more flowing than the historic Formula 1 configuration used in the past (3.8 km with 16 turns) as well as the current Supercars layout (3.2 km with 14 turns). One of the key modifications is a redesigned section between Turns 7 and 8, where the former tight right-angle streets in Adelaide’s eastern CBD (Central Business District) will be replaced by a faster, sweeping sequence designed to better suit the speed and characteristics of modern MotoGP bikes.

Further updates include a new pit lane location, which moves Turn 1 to a hairpin set deeper within the parklands. This layout change is intended to reduce congestion during race starts while shifting more of the track into Victoria Park. Under the new configuration, only eight of the 18 corners will run directly on public roads, giving the circuit a unique balance between city-street racing and sections set within Adelaide’s green parkland surroundings.
