About the circuit

The Marina Bay Street Circuit has been the home of the Singapore Grand Prix since 2008, making history as Formula 1’s first-ever night race. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Singapore’s skyline, the race offers a unique challenge with its tight corners, narrow streets, and humid conditions, making it one of the most physically demanding events on the F1 calendar. The circuit spans 4.940 km with 19 turns that test drivers' precision and endurance.

Over the years, the track has seen numerous iconic moments, including Fernando Alonso’s controversial 2008 victory in the inaugural race and multiple dominant performances by Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton. Frequent safety car deployments are a hallmark of the race due to the limited runoff areas and unforgiving barriers that leave little room for error.

In 2023, the circuit layout was updated by removing four corners to create a longer straight, offering better overtaking opportunities.

With its stunning night-time setting and electric atmosphere, the Singapore Grand Prix remains one of the most anticipated and glamorous events in the Formula 1 season.
