Rules for visitors

Before heading to Portimão for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, it is advisable to review the list of permitted and prohibited items in advance. Being aware of the regulations can help ensure smooth entry to the circuit and prevent delays at security checkpoints.

Permitted items
  • Binoculars are permitted and can help spectators follow the on-track action more closely.
  • Identification (ID) may be requested when entering the venue or when making age-restricted purchases.
  • Food and drinks: Visitors are usually allowed to bring small quantities of food and non-alcoholic beverages for personal consumption, such as a sandwich, snack, or bottle. Bottle caps may need to be removed during security checks. Numerous food and beverage stands are also located around the circuit.
  • General Admission equipment: Sun umbrellas and folding or camping chairs are typically allowed in General Admission areas, provided they do not block the view of other spectators.
  • Photography and video: Personal photography and filming for private use are permitted. However, professional equipment is restricted – cameras with lenses longer than 200 mm, tripods, and other professional recording gear are usually not allowed.
Prohibited items
  • Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into the circuit.
  • Animals are not permitted within the venue.
  • Bicycles, scooters and other personal transport devices must remain outside the circuit area.
  • Cannons, flares, smoke bombs and other pyrotechnic devices are strictly forbidden.
  • Drones are not allowed under any circumstances.
  • Glass, metal or wooden containers cannot be taken inside the venue.
  • Sharp objects, including knives or scissors, will be confiscated during security checks.
