Rules for visitors

As with other Formula 1 events, including the Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, all attendees must follow the rules and guidelines set by the event organizers. Here’s a brief overview of the key regulations:

Permitted items
  • Bags and coolers: Coolers and backpacks are permitted but must not exceed the dimensions of 22.8 cm (9 in.) x 45.7 cm (18 in.) x 25.4 cm (10 in.). Grandstand ticket holders must store them under their seats.
  • Cameras: Personal-use cameras are allowed, enabling fans to capture their favourite moments without professional-grade equipment.
  • Mobility aids: Strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are permitted to accommodate guests with mobility needs.
  • Smoking restrictions: Cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, and vaporizers are allowed on-site; however, smoking is strictly prohibited in grandstands, Suites, Terraces, and enclosed areas in accordance with the Tobacco Act.
  • Umbrellas (small, hand-held): Compact umbrellas are allowed, but their use should not obstruct the view of other spectators.
Prohibited items
  • Alcohol and glass containers: Bringing alcoholic beverages and glass containers from outside the venue is strictly prohibited.
  • Banners and signs: Any signs or banners that are provocative, defamatory, or used for protests are not allowed within the circuit premises.
  • Drones: The use of drones or any other unmanned aerial devices is strictly forbidden for safety reasons.
  • Firearms and hazardous items: Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, electric stun guns, and other dangerous objects, are not permitted.
  • Ladders and large structures: Items such as ladders, stepladders, and umbrellas that could obstruct the view or pose a safety risk are not allowed.
  • Pets: Animals, except for guide and assistance dogs, are not permitted inside the venue.
  • Recreational devices: Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and similar transportation devices are not allowed within the circuit.
  • Stoves and grills: Burners, barbecues, and grills of any type are not permitted on site.
