Yas Marina Circuit, located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, is one of the most modern and visually striking tracks in Formula 1. Opened in 2009, the circuit was designed by renowned architect Hermann Tilke and quickly became a key venue on the F1 calendar. It features a 5.28 km layout and hosts a variety of motorsport events, including Formula 1, endurance racing, and local competitions.
The circuit was developed as part of Abu Dhabi’s push to become a global sports and tourism destination, with Yas Island offering luxury hotels, theme parks, and entertainment venues. Unlike traditional racetracks, Yas Marina integrates a harbour and waterfront setting, providing a unique backdrop for racing. Its facilities include a state-of-the-art pit complex, extensive hospitality areas, and a driving academy that supports motorsport development in the region.
Over the years, Yas Marina has undergone several layout modifications to improve overtaking opportunities and enhance race action. While best known for hosting Formula 1, the track is also a hub for corporate events, track days, and public driving experiences, making it an important year-round destination for motorsport enthusiasts.
