Schedule

For 2025, the F1 Austrian Grand Prix follows the traditional Formula 1 weekend schedule (no Saturday sprint race included this time), packed with action and excitement over three days:

  • Friday: The event kicks off with two Free Practice sessions, allowing teams to fine-tune their setups and drivers to get familiar with the track conditions.
  • Saturday: The day features a final Free Practice session in the morning, followed by the all-important Qualifying session in the afternoon, determining the starting grid for the race.
  • Sunday: The highlight of the weekend, the Grand Prix, takes place. Fans can enjoy the thrill of wheel-to-wheel racing as drivers compete for victory in the race.

Entering the circuit

For a smooth and enjoyable trip to the Red Bull Ring, early planning is key. Consider travelling by bus, train, or bike for a cost-effective and hassle-free journey. Clear traffic guidance along access routes ensures easy navigation to the car parks, which open an hour before the venue and are complimentary for ticket holders.

Present a valid ticket at the entrance, either electronically or in printed form, though printing is recommended. Most visitors keep their tickets in a clear pouch worn around their neck for convenience. Each ticket code permits a single entry, so avoid sharing your ticket with others to prevent misuse.  

Operating hours (based on 2024)
The circuit, including areas, grandstands, and banked sections, operates from 12:00 to 19:30 on Thursday, from 7:00 to 20:00 on Friday and Saturday, and from 7:00 to 20:30 on Sunday. Parking lots open one hour before the circuit at 7:00. Fan Zones in the Steiermark Village are open from 12:00 to 19:30 on Thursday, from 9:00 to 20:00 on Friday and Saturday, and from 7:00 to 19:30 on Sunday.

Rules for visitors

Although small amounts of food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, it's important to review the specific guidelines beforehand. Overnight stays are not permitted, so guests should plan their visit to align with the circuit's official opening hours.

Permitted items

  • Bags and chains: Keyrings, purse chains, and small bags are permitted (only backpacks no larger than A3 size are allowed in the grandstands)
  • Binoculars: Standard binoculars are allowed.
  • Cameras: Personal cameras and video cameras with batteries are allowed for non-commercial use.
  • Chairs: Folding chairs and armchairs are permitted in standing areas.
  • Flagpoles: Flagpoles up to 1.6 m or less than 2 cm in diameter are allowed if they do not obstruct the view; access may be restricted if they interfere with others.
  • Medicines: Personal medicines are permitted.
  • Mobile phones: Functioning mobile phones are allowed.
  • Sun umbrellas: Compact sun umbrellas and umbrellas are allowed in General Admission areas.
  • Lighters: Commercially available pocket lighters are permitted.
  • Plastic bottles and cans: Non-breakable plastic bottles and commercially available cans are permitted.
  • Cameras and digital cameras: Are permitted in the grandstands only if they are no larger than a standard SLR with a lens of up to 180mm focal length or a maximum lens length of 20cm.

Prohibited items

  • Alcohol: Bringing alcohol is strictly forbidden.
  • Animals: Domestic animals are not allowed.
  • Barbecues and cookers: Barbecues, cookers, and other appliances for food preparation are prohibited.
  • Beverage containers: Glass bottles and other breakable containers are not permitted. Only unbreakable plastic bottles and cans are allowed.
  • Bulky objects: Items like scaffolding, ladders, bicycles, skateboards, (electric) scooters, segways, hand carts, and bulky luggage (e.g., large bags, backpacks, suitcases) are prohibited.
  • Drugs and stimulants: Drugs and other stimulants are strictly forbidden.
  • Gas spray cans: Corrosive, flammable, or harmful substances in spray cans are not allowed.
  • Laser pointers: All types of laser pointers are prohibited.
  • Parasols: Parasols are not permitted in seating areas.
  • Propaganda material: Racist, xenophobic, radical, sexist, or political propaganda materials are strictly prohibited.
  • Pyrotechnics: Fireworks, smoke bombs, incendiary devices, and other pyrotechnic articles are banned.
  • Sharp or dangerous items: Weapons, knives, darts, and similar objects are prohibited.
  • Photo cases, bags, backpacks, monopods, tripods and telephoto lenses exceeding 180mm focal length or 20cm in length (including lens hood). These restrictions apply exclusively to grandstands and do not affect standing areas or fan zones.

Parking

Parking in Spielberg is mostly first-come, first-served, so arriving early increases your chances of securing a spot close to the circuit. However, Easy Camping Parking offers the option to book parking online in advance, with prices starting at €29 per day or €99 for five days (for more information and booking, click here).

Keep in mind there is no shuttle service from the car parks to the circuit. If your parking spot is far from your grandstand or grassy area, be prepared for a short walk. For those travelling by caravan or motorhome, overnight stays are not allowed in the car parks.

About the circuit

The Red Bull Ring, situated in Spielberg, Austria, is a world-famous motorsport venue that hosts prestigious events like Formula 1 and MotoGP.

Originally opened in 1969 as the Österreichring, the circuit gained fame for its fast and challenging layout. In 1996, it underwent significant modifications and shortening by renowned circuit designer Hermann Tilke, reopening as the A1-Ring. After a period of inactivity, it was acquired and revitalized by Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, reopening in 2011 under its current name.

The track spans 4.318 kilometres, combining high-speed straights and tight corners, making it a true test of skill and performance. Its dramatic elevation changes and picturesque Styrian mountain setting add to its charm.

Ticket price for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austria  vary depending on the type and quantity of tickets purchased:

General admission tickets: provide access to an open meadow without reserved seating and are the most budget-friendly option. This type of ticket does not entitle you to enter the yellow and blue sectors.
Grandstand tickets: offer comfortable seating with great views, sheltered from the sun or rain, and are priced in the mid-range.
3 Corner ticket: is a great opportunity to explore every corner of the Red Bull Ring as each day you have access to a different grandstand. 
VIP tickets: grants access to exclusive lounges, the paddock, and excellent views of the track, reflecting a higher-end experience.

We currently only offer standard three-day adult tickets (Friday to Sunday) for Formula 1 Grand Prix races.

Seats are assigned automatically based on availability. Rest assured, we always aim to provide the best possible seating experience for our guests.

Tickets for the Austrian F1 Grand Prix often sell out, particularly for the most popular areas, well before the race weekend. It’s possible that all tickets will be sold out in advance. Wheelchair users and other holders of disability passes are entitled to a 50% discount on the regular admission price. People in wheelchairs are only admitted to the Start-Ziel grandstand. 

Tickets for people with handicaps or PRM are not sold directly through our website.
